Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for your thoughts. Having been denied the choice of hair length growing up, I (and my wife) wanted to make sure that our son has total freedom in this area. So far, he's chosen to keep it long with no indications that this will change.
Congrats on achieving such an impressive mane yourself. You've "graduated" having reached terminal. I never did quite find out where my terminal length would be but I must have come close when it was at my lower back.
