Hello! My name is Erik, and I wanted to ask for help, regarding a presentation I need to do.

In about a month, I have to give an informative presentation on whatever topic I chose (I'm a sophomore in college, by the way. I know that piece of info isn't necessary at all, but I thought I'd just mention it). Being a long-haired man (my hair is right on the cusp of shoulder length, and I plan on growing it down to my navel), I thought it would be interesting to see where contempt towards long hair on men began in the United States, and even around the world. I have a basic outline, and have begun to do research, but I have to find credible sources, and unfortunately, a lot of the sources I've found that talk about men with long hair (especially in the modern day) are places like BuzzFeed or The New Yorker. I guess my question is, do you guys know where I can find credible sources? I've found pretty good sources about long hair in ancient times (i.e. Ireland and the Merovingian Dynasty)but I'm having a hard time finding sources about when long hair was first banned in the US and the World, specifically regarding WWI.

Sorry for the incredibly long post, but thanks for reading it! If nobody can find any good sources that's okay, I can just tweak the speech. Thanks for listening, and I might keep you guys updated on the development of this speech.

And before you ask, I did read the article from 1964 from Phil O. Trichos, but I have use "unbiased" and historical sources, and use texts like these as supplements.
