: : : I've had grey hairs come in on the side of my head for years that isn't smooth like my other hair and reaches a short terminal length of an inch or two. I just shaved the sides of my head and am wondering if a bunch of conditioner on the sides would help future grey hairs to be smooth or if grey hairs are supposed to be wiry?

: : A good (leave in) conditioner might help but I think grey hairs are a bit like that, not as fine as a good hair and that one of the hazards of going grey :-(

: That's what I thought-no way around it except for the fountain of youth. I googled this and it took me to a lot of women's sites that were talking about it being a common problem for people over 40 (started with me in my 30s). Their solutions were different hair dyes that had moisturizer. I don't care about the color-I went through a lot of painful years to earn the color but I don't like the different texture which for me was leaving me with short fuzzies that wouldn't reach a ponytail, so I'm gonna try leave in conditioner.

There are also some good non stick gels on the market now, just a little on the sides helps too!
