If you stop back and read the replies, have you considered treating the frizz & dryness? Using an oil like Coconut oil and adding a humectant to hold in moisture might ease the problems you have with frizzy & dryness. You can buy intensive hair masks & treatments to restore moisture. You can also go homemade. One treatment is to mix equal parts honey & an oil like olive, almond, avocado. Work it through your hair and leave it for around 15 minutes. Rinse it out with warm water, then use a mild shampoo and conditioner. Honey is a humectant.

An oldie but goodie, from the 1970's, is using mayonnaise as a treatment. Apply the mayo to hair, focussing on the ends. Wrap head in a warm towel and leave it in 5 to 10 minutes. Shampoo & condition as usual. Buy a bottle of pure Aloe Vera gel. Add to hair as often as you need, hair will absorb the gel. Aloe is a humectant. Try TREATING it 1st before you contemplate cutting. An intensive treatment followed by regular use of oil & Aloe might be all you need.
