Hello Anthony, may I suggest to follow your wies advice and just let it flow and don't worry too much about your appearance, it makes it worse.
Your waves look very good on you.
Another option could be some kind of a slicked back look, I do it myself if it becomes too greasy and I don't have enough time for washing it in that case you don't need any pruducts to hold them in place.
